Blues Break Super Rugby Drought to Claim 2024 Title

A 41-10 demolition of the Chiefs at Eden Park ends 21 years without a title and breaks the Crusaders'' seven-year reign.

The Blues have ended their 21-year Super Rugby title drought! They clinched the championship for the first time in two decades by overwhelming the Chiefs 41-10 at Auckland's Eden Park on June 22, 2024. This victory marked a special moment for Auckland's Blues over Hamilton's Chiefs in claiming the 2024 Super Rugby title. What a moment to savor!

The Blues capped off a stellar season with a 12-0-2 record in the regular season, dominating both the final and semifinal with a combined 55-point margin. This fifth championship win for the Blues breaks the seven-year reign of the Christchurch Crusaders, who had claimed every title from 2017 to 2023 (with no final in 2020 or 2021).

The Blues now firmly hold second place all-time with five Super Rugby titles, while the Crusaders lead with 12 since 1996. Congratulations to the Blues, our Pasifika guys, and the beautiful city of Auckland! The question now is: can they defend their title next year?
